5. Are you the Rebbe's?

During the years of communist Russia, the Frierdiker Rebbe's greatest concern was the education of young children. But one of his chassidim, R' Itche der Masmid, didn't want to be involved with teaching young kids. He was a genius, and a Beinoni from the Tanya, and he didn't want to waste his precious time just teaching Aleph beis.
The F"R called him into yechidus and told him, "If you will be involved in teaching tinokos shel Beis raban, then you'll be meiner, mine. If not, then you're takeh R' Itche." Meaning, you'll still get credit for all your great and holy accomplishments,  but you won't be my chossid.

From the days that our Rebbe went to Cheder, and even earlier, he was already dreaming about the coming of Moshiach. And throughout the Rebbe's entire Nesius he did all he could to inspire us not to be complacent in Golus and to share his desperate yearning for Geulah.
It follows that the only way we can truly be "the Rebbe's" is if we share the Rebbe's fiery passion for Moshiach. As chassidim, we can not rest until we make the Rebbe's dream a reality!
